An equipment condition needs to be understood alongside its dependencies, current work and response procedures. Establish that context before deciding how to intervene.
Understand the affected operation
When an equipment condition changes while maintenance work is planned, an alert alone does not establish whether to dispatch a crew, adjust the plan or continue monitoring. Review asset dependencies, current work and operating constraints together.
Review context and authority
Connect the asset event to its maintenance history and affected work, keeping timestamps and unresolved questions visible. A qualified operator evaluates the appropriate procedure and authorizes the next step.
Evaluate the response
Assess evidence-gathering effort, unresolved dependencies, appropriate escalation and confirmed work completion. Test incomplete telemetry and unavailable field capacity alongside routine conditions.
